Turnverein Dance and Cultural Center Celebrates 150 Years in Denver
Twelve hundred Coloradans are members of the Denver Turnverein, accessing its two dance floors 7 days a week. The place is commonly known as the hub of the social dance scene for Colorado’s front range, and is frequented by dance enthusiasts from the western slope, other states, and various countries. 150th Anniversary Masquerade Ball – A Resounding Success!

The Masked Ball, an historical fundraising event dating back 150 years, was attended by approximately 200 dancers and not-yet-dancers on April 18th. Turnverein President William Murikami said that the 150th Anniversary events were the most successful he had witnessed in his 15 years with the organization. Board members Sue Rose (Media Chair) and Vice President Ted Simmons were caught on camera dancing the foxtrot by videographer Sierra Gilman, a film student from Warren Tech high school.
